-- On Genesian Road approaching or leaving the Port. North to Brundisium or South to Bazi.
Wagons and foot traffic keep the road busy. Watch out for raiders! --
says to ALL: The figure on the big black rode with ease upon the back of the big kaiila, it was evident that he was used to being on the back of beasts such as these. The small group of riders rode hard along the dirt track heading East (Rim) towards Brundisium. The head of the group of riders wore a dark hooded cloak with a sand scarf wrapped about his features hiding who he was, the beast carried him and his array of weapons. The beast was wild eyed as it ran throwing its head back as froth speckled its lips fangs bared. They moved fast along the track all the men evidently a small band of fighters eight strong all dressed similarly and armed with the same weapons almost to the man.

The leader rode with low, a big man hunched down into the wind as the beast ran. Across the saddle pommel before him was a horned bow with a quiver of 30 feather fletched arrows. On his left hip a 36" saber with an 8" false edge, at the small of his back a 12" sleen knife in a scabbard with the handle on his left side for a quick draw. Across the riders back was a 36" round kiln dried wooden shield with a 3" rimming and a 6" metal domed center boss. There was a 3lb bearded axe with a 36" wooden haft with the handle out towards the right of the rider across the back of the beast just behind the saddle fastened on top of a 10' diameter weighted cast net. The weapons for mounted riders light fast and easy to use of the backs of the fleeting kaiila, each man was armed the same.

says to ALL: riding two abreast the beasts moved swiftly along the empty road the wind whipping their cloaks as they rode, only dark eyes peering across the dark cloth scarves that was pulled up to just below their eyes. There were no revealing colors nor banners that identified these men that rode, they were obviously well trained and rode like cavalrymen holding formation and executing commands with practised ease.

The small group wheeled off the road and up into the small hills that lined the track keeping low and below the ridges so as not to offer a silhouette to the enemy. There was no dust as or sounds from the men riding, all their weapons had been wrapped in rep to prevent clatter when they moved, the leading rider slowed in a small shallow valley between two hills while the others slowed too but fanning out the leader leaned in he spoke birefly to one of the men who had been riding beside him. The man wheeled the beast away and rode off with three other riders falling in with him keeping below the ridges they quickly worked their way out from the road until both groups were a pasang apart and riding in the same direction East parallel with the Genesian road.

says to ALL: Riding now in two groups parallel to the road each a pasang apart they hurried on towards Brudisium. There was no identifying markings or colors, there were no names that gave them away, no city or home banners just a group of nondescript men that moved swiftly with military confidence. They rode in silence eyes scanning the terrain around them looking for signs, remaining silent alert and with purpose this small clandestine group kept a low profile, remaining below the skyline and ridges of the hills that surrounded them yet keeping to higher ground constantly remaining vigilant as they swept the terrain for sign of activity or the road for travelers or caravans. The the leader with his small band of four men wheeled back towards the road crossing it and into the hills on the opposite side riding through the low scrub and low lying hills again parallel to the road. Both groups now riding alongside the road a pansang away riding low and out of sight sweeping the terrain before them with vigilance and intent.
